I also had the opportunity to attend the International Reception just to show off the product and network but the videographer in me couldn't resist covering it. This was a perfect opportunity to use my QP in a real world situation under ENG conditions. The shoot was impromptu and all hand held via the Quad Pod Combo photo video support system. Because of its mobility, stability and comfort it's the perfect system to allow 1 photo-video journalist the ability to cover both in just about any situation. I was able to get good footage plus a few photos that were used in post production to finish off the final cut.
After the awards, I shot some very talented smooth jazz musicians. Sorry I didn't
get there names. This is a classic example of how to get creative when you only have 1 video camera to work with. If you want to get interesting and entertaining footage, go smooth with a quad pod.
The quad pod combo was indispensable, allowing one person, in this case me, to shoot video and to take stills all on the fly. This was a situation where having both a still and video camera side by side really performed. With my time constraints, mobility was key in coverage of the worlds largest trade show.
Heads were turning everywhere I went checking out the new rig.

Exhibitors and Guests were sent off by the King himself. This Elvis was excellent.
I got this footage on the way to a WEVA Party at the Sahara. Even though he wasn't the real King, it was a thrill. It brought back memories of the most challenging editing job I ever had. After the video, check out this Elvis Montage that I Edited
back in 1988 A tribute to the King of Rock and Roll . Its a medley of 7 tunes encompassing his incredible career. Over 400 hours of editing went into this tribute the old fashioned way, tape to tape. It was re-edited ( multi image layering) in Avid Liquid when I went non-linear. Lost it all in a hard drive crash, bummer. All there is left is this .swf file. Hope you enjoy it.

How would you cover the worlds largest trade show in just two hours?
I wanted to get some photos and video of the incredible exhibits but I had very little time. What to do, use a tripod, mono pod, steady cam, go hand held?
They all work but are all limiting in some way.
I needed versatility, mobility and stability. I used a Quad Pod "All in One"
WEVA Party at the Sahara.

After some guys stole my cab from Elvis, my cabby and I headed off to the Sahara to get me to the WEVA get together. I Met a lot of great people and had a excellent time.
